Once a supergroup always a supergroup must their mantra, because on album number two they have replaced Roland Grapow with Bob Katsionis (Guitars, Firewind) and Thomen Stauch has been replaced by Alex Holzwarth (Drums, Rhapsody of Fire), and the remaining members remain the same: Mario Lochert (Bass, Emergency Gate, ex-Visions of Atlantis), Jan Vacik (Keyboards, ex-Dreamscape), Dominik Sebastian (Guitars, Edenbridge) and Urban Breed (Vocals, ex-Tad Morose, ex-Bloodbound) – an international sextet from various countries and backgrounds that surely on paper sounds like a dream come true to many melodic power metal fans.
And if you are familiar with their debut album then you would known that they delivered some serious metal on “As Daylight Breaks” in early 2015. And they simply pick up where they left us: very tight melodic power metal. Plenty of wonderful hooks and harmonies, delicate guitar licks, soli and riffs, and a hard pounding rhythm section and Urban Breed is in familiar fashion putting his stamp on the outcome with a stellar performance.
But just when the fun has begun, it’s all over again… 36 minutes, not the longest album of 2016. But there’s not a dull moment on the album and all eight songs plus an intro are first class melodic power metal. And I strongly recommend that you give this album a consideration if you liked their first album or any of the many bands the parties involved have taken or takes part in…
Well done!
