Neo classical symphonic metal from Denmark with Neils Vejlyt (guitar, bass) as main man, together with John West (vocals) and Jakob Vand on drums. Besides the classical elements the songs are also rather progressive. It will not be a surprise for you that the guitar solos and riffs are outstanding and that fans of Yngwie and other neo classical guitar heroes will like this. After a typical neoclassical intro the song “Shooting Star” sets off. An uptempo track in Infinity Overture, Majestic, Yngwie style.
Besides the recognizable vocals of John West (Royal Hunt, Artension) also Fabio Lione helps out singing parts in the over 20 minute long title track. Other guest singers are Thomas Huberts and Sophia Schmidt. Especially the title track is very progressive and very variable, with orchestral elements, choir singing and piano parts. Because of the orchestral arrangements, the songs sound rather bombastic. I did not count the number of guitar solos, but it are many. I was not surprised by the music on this album, it was just what I expected from these musicians. The skills are fabulous, the execution perfect, but without surprises.
Readers who know other work from Neils know what to expect, compared with the first release ‘Sage’s Recital’ there aren’t a lot of new influences or differences. If you like that, you will like this also.
