“Condition Hüman” is the second album with Todd La Torre fronting the revamped version of Queensrÿche, and he proves once more that they could not have chosen a better man for the job. He brings the spirit and energy back, something many fans have felt they’ve missed for quite some time.
And the task is also a lot easier, when the song material is so strong, which is the case on this album. Topping the brilliant self-titled album from 2013 is quite an achievement, but one they pull off with ease. This album is one of the best traditional heavy metal albums in a long, long time.
It catapults the freshness and pure energy of their early albums into the next millennium. Never forgetting their roots and sound, there’s references to their first 4 or 5 albums and it’s a pure joy to listen to this album, over and over… from the opening twin guitar riff to the last seconds of the epic title track, it’s an album that oozes of greatness.
Queensrÿche is back, strong and very much alive. “Condition Hüman” is a tribute to their legacy and to heavy metal in general, and an album metal fans around the world will cherish and love…
Brilliant!
