In November 2009 I reviewed their second album called ‘Veraldar Nagli’ and I was very enthusiastic about it. The black metal style they play is the style I prefer. Not the bad sounding and ultra extreme screaming style the die-hard black metal fan likes, but the well produced version with understandable harsh aggressive vocals and a lot of death metal influences.
If you like the band Immortal, you like Rimfrost. The vocals of Hravn sounds almost similar to Abbath. Also the music style is about the same. Perhaps this album sounds a little more polished than Immortal and in the songs there are a bit more traditional metal parts. The drums do make me think of the ‘Frost’ album of Enslaved. From start to finish it is entertaining. Especially the heavy guitar riffs are very enjoyable. The only negative thing you can say about the music is, that it is not very original, but who cares when it is high quality?
Besides Immortal fans, Dissection followers can also take this bait . Back in 2009 I already was a fan of their style and I still am. Nice!
