Chrome Molly – Hoodoo Voodoo

[nyrating]

I fully understand and appreciate the need to stay true to your roots and sound authentic. It’s like the past 30 years have passed without Chrome Molly even noticing, because Hoodoo Voodoo is a homage to the hay-days of NWoBHM, both in spirit and in sound.

If you take one of the worst productions I’ve heard in the past decade, add a mediocre vocalist and some pretty average songs, you sadly end up with one of the most bland albums I’ve heard in a long time. Only a few very fine guitar soli lights up this otherwise boring album.

NWoBHM aficionados might disagree with me, but this is simply too average to rock me in the year 2017… in 1985 I might have look at it with different eyes!

When I kicked this site off back in 2003, I had no idea that it would turn into what it has become. I am very proud of what we've done and achieved over the years. Musically I have a soft spot for 80s inspired hard rock, but my favourite music and bands are all to be found in the progressive universe these days.
