GOZU signs worldwide deal with Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records!

Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of Boston’s rock/metal outfit GOZU. Formed in 2010, the four-piece have released one EP and three full-lengths to-date, and are currently writing their fourth studio album, set for a 2017 release.

GOZU comments: “We are extremely excited to be signed to Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records, started by celebrity Chef Chris Santos and partnered with legendary Metal Blade founder and CEO, Brian Slagel. The 4 members of Gozu couldn’t be happier. This is why we plug in every night.“

Chris Santos (Blacklight Media) adds: “I caught Gozu at Brooklyn’s Metal Bar Lucky 13 Saloon and they blew me away. By the second song in their set, I began sending Brian real time video of the show. Gozu represents the bands that I look for for BLM; It’s hard to articulate, but you know it when it grabs you by the throat.“

GOZU heave the rock, yet embody the soul on their past releases. Fronted by Marc Gaffney on vocals and guitar, Doug Sherman on guitar, Joe Grotto on bass, and Mike Hubbard on drums, the band’s sound is tailor-made for blasting out the car speakers via international radio airwaves. Having already been aired on national television (USA) via MTV (‘Road Rules’, ‘Dudesons’, ‘Real World’), NBC, and NASCAR, GOZU aims to take their critical and commercial success to new heights on their upcoming debut for Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records, with worldwide touring to follow. Previously, the group shared the stage with the likes of St. Vitus, Pallbearer, Lo Pan, Storm of Light, Helmet, Elder, Mos Generator, and Fu Manchu in the States, as well as Yob, Church of Misery and Kvelertak in Europe at Roadburn (Netherlands) and DesertFest Berlin (Germany). 2017 will surely see Gozu back on the road again, and at the forefront of the heavy rock and metal world.

GOZU – ab jetzt weltweit bei Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records unter Vertrag!

Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records haben einen weltweiten Vertrag mit der Bostoner Rock-/Metal.Band GOZU abgeschlossen. Das 2010 gegründete Quartett brachte bislang eine EP und drei Alben heraus, schreibt momentan ihr viertes und wird es 2017 veröffentlichen.

GOZUs Kommentar dazu: “Wir freuen uns riesig, bei Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records untergekommen zu sein, dem Label von Chefkoch Chris Santos und dem legendären Metal-Blade-Gründer bzw. -Geschäftsführer Brian Slagel. Wir vier könnten echt nicht glücklicher sein. Aus dem Grund machen wir diesen ganzen Scheiß letzten Endes schließlich.“

Chris Santos (Blacklight Media) fügt hinzu: “Ich sah Gozu in der Brooklyner Metal-Bar Lucky 13 Saloon und war hellauf begeistert. Ab dem zweiten Song machte ich ein Handyvideo für Brian Slagel. Gozu sind genau das, was ich für BLM suche; Es ist schwer zu beschreiben, aber man spürt halt, wenn man so richtig gepackt wird.“

GOZU haben Rock und Soul, wie ihre bisherigen Veröffentlichungen zeigen. Marc Gaffney (g/v), Doug Sherman (g), Joe Grotto (b) und Mike Hubbard (d) fahren einen Sound, der zum laut Aufdrehen beim Autofahren und fürs internationale Radio wie geschaffen ist. Nach US-Fernsehauftritten, unter anderem bei MTV (‘Road Rules’, ‘Dudesons’, ‘Real World’), NBC und NASCAR zielen GOZU nun darauf ab die nächste Beliebtheitsstufe unter Kritikern und Fans zu erreichen. Ihr kommendes Debüt für Blacklight Media / Metal Blade Records wird von einer Welttournee flankiert sein. Bisher teilte sich die Band die Bühnen mit Künstlern wie St. Vitus, Pallbearer, Lo Pan, Storm of Light, Helmet, Elder, Mos Generator und Fu Manchu in den Staaten, außerdem Yob, Church of Misery und Kvelertak in Europa beim niederländischen Roadburn und Berliner DesertFest. 2017 werden sie definitiv wieder unterwegs sein – und wieder an vorderster Front der Rock- und Metal-Welt.
