CANDIRIA premieres ‘The Whole World Will Burn’ video via MetalInjection.net!

CANDIRIA and MetalInjection.net have teamed up to premiere the video for ‘The Whole World Will Burn’, which is taken from the band’s new record, ‘While They Were Sleeping‘ (out now via Metal Blade Records). ‘While They Were Sleeping‘ is a concept album conceived by the band’s lead vocalist Carley Coma that tells the tale of a failed musician who rises up against a monarchy in New York City. ‘The Whole World Will Burn’ was filmed by Metal Injection’s Frank Godla. “Growing up in the music scene of Brooklyn, New York throughout the ’90s, Candiria have always held a special place in my heart as hometown heroes, and continue to today,” Godla comments. “Beyond their amazing talents as musicians and songwriters, they’re a band that inspires change, promotes acceptance, conquers barriers, and are some of the nicest guys I’ve ever had the pleasure of calling friends. It’s an honor and a privilege to work with them once again, in the form of a music video shot during their Five-Borough Tour. The run was truly something special to watch as a longtime fan from NYC, and creating it was as easy as watching them play five shows in a row…something I don’t mind doing every day!“

CANDIRIA‘s Michael MacIvor (bass) comments: “The Candiria Five-Borough Tour was an idea conceived by our team many months before our record came out. We wanted to give a little payback to all of our fans located in the boroughs. They have been traveling to see us for years. So we wanted to go to them this time. And we had an amazing time doing it. The people in these under-served markets were so happy and grateful for us coming to them. That it really was an experience the band will cherish forever. We think that the video for ‘The Whole World Will Burn’ truly captured the vibe of a band from NYC. And how we interact with our people. Frank Godla did a great job. He is from NYC and a fan of the band. So he was able to capture everything we wanted. Frank is someone that we love working with, because first and foremost, he is a friend. He gets the band. He gets our vibe. And he knows what we want without us having to explain things in depth.“

CANDIRIA, described by Pitchfork.com as one of “the most convincingly flexible acts that metal and hardcore have ever seen,” is currently finishing up a headline tour in support of ‘While They Were Sleeping‘. ‘The Whole World Will Burn’ wurde von Metal Injections Frank Godla gedreht. “Für mich als Kind der Musikszene Brooklyns in den 90ern sind Candiria stets Lokalhelden geblieben, was auch heute noch gilt” , sagt Godla. “Abgesehen von ihrem Talent als Musiker und Komponisten haben sie seit jeher Wandel inspiriert, für Toleranz geworben und Grenzen eingerissen. Zudem sind sie die nettesten Typen überhaupt. Mit ihnen zu arbeiten war mir wieder eine Ehre. Diese Tournee bedeutete etwas wirklich Besonderes für jeden Fan aus New York, der schon lange dabei ist, und das Video fiel mir umso leichter, weil ich mir alle fünf Shows hintereinander geben konnte…Hätte ich echt jeden Tag Lust dazu!“

CANDIRIAs Michael MacIvor (Bass) ergänzt: “Die Candiria Five-Borough Tour stand schon seit Monaten fest, als die Platte noch nicht draußen war. Wir wollten unseren ansässigen Fans ein kleines Dankeschön geben. Sie sind jahrelang weit gereist, um uns zu sehen, also durften sie diesmal zu Hause bleiben. Es machte auch großen Spaß. Diese Leute, die konzerttechnisch arg vernachlässigt werden, waren ungeheuer froh und dankbar dafür, dass wir gekommen sind. Diese Erfahrung wird die Band nie vergessen. Wir finden der Clip zu ‘The Whole World Will Burn’ fängt die Stimmung und Interaktion einer New Yorker Band mit ihren Fans treffend ein. Frank Godla hat Großartiges geleistet. Er stammt von hier und ist auch ein begeisterter Hörer unserer Musik, sodas er nichts zu wünschen übrigließ. Wir arbeiten sehr gern mit ihm zusammen, weil er zuallererst unser Freund ist. Er versteht, worum es uns geht, begreift unseren Vibe und weiß, was wir tun, ohne dass man es lange erklären muss.“
