EXUMER premieres ‘Catatonic’ video clip!

German Thrashers EXUMER have released ‘Catatonic‘ as the first video clip off their latest album “The Raging Tides“.

The clip was filmed and directed by David Thelen during EXUMER‘s European tour in January/February and captures the dark lyrical themes of the song, portraying the psychological manifestations of physical torture and abuse.

Vocalist Mem V. Stein explains: “We were compelled to use this track as our first clip from the new album because the song sums the overall concept behind the record very well. ‘Catatonic’ is also different as it is a mid-tempo cut but yet just as hard hitting as any of our fast song or even harder in a sense. We were able to create a visually daring piece with the help of our director and his crew, while exploring new techniques for us, working with an actor on the set for the first time.“

EXUMER stellen Clip zu ‘Catatonic’ vor!

Die deutschen Thrasher EXUMER haben ‘Catatonic‘ als erstes Video zum neuen Album “The Raging Tides” veröffentlicht.

Der Clip wurde von Regisseur David Thelen während EXUMERs Europatour im Januar und Februar abgedreht. Er fängt den Inhalt des düsteren Songtextes ein, der sich mit den psychischen Auswirkungen von körperlicher Folter und Missbrauch auseinandersetzt.

Sänger Mem V. Stein erklärt: “Wir mussten diesen Song für den Clip wählen, weil er das Gesamtkonzept hinter dem Album treffend auf den Punkt bringt. ‘Catatonic’ unterscheidet sich zudem vom Gros, weil er nicht schnell ist, aber trotzdem ordentlich reinhaut und vielleicht sogar härter als die anderen Stücke wirkt. Wir haben es geschafft, die Stimmung mit unserem Regisseur und seiner Crew trefflich einzufangen, wobei für uns neue Techniken zum Tragen kamen, auch weil wir erstmals mit einem Schauspieler zusammenarbeiteten.“
