The Murder of My Sweet – Echoes of the Aftermath

[nyrating]

Female fronted metal and hard rock comes in many shapes and forms, and one of them is The Murder of My Sweet, founded by Daniel Flores in 2006. “Echoes of the Aftermath” is their fourth studio album, and like on their previous albums they find inspiration in books and movie soundtracks.

Normally I really like when bands implement theatrical and symphonic sounds into their sound universe, but The Murder of My Sweet has for some reason never really won me over, and that’s about to change with this new album.

Technically and soundwise you can’t put a finger on anything, but the songs never ignites and I have my reservation about Angelica Rylin – her voice just rubs me the wrong way.

If you are into hard rock with a metal edge, infused with a solid portion of theatrical and symphonic sound this might be of interest to you…

When I kicked this site off back in 2003, I had no idea that it would turn into what it has become. I am very proud of what we've done and achieved over the years. Musically I have a soft spot for 80s inspired hard rock, but my favourite music and bands are all to be found in the progressive universe these days.
