‘Product of Imagination’ is still an album that puts a smile on my face every time I hear it. That album was released almost 30 years ago and the only member left from that line up is Charly Steinhauer (vocals, lead & rythm guitar). Instead of focusing on devestating thrash the old German way, Paradox uses a lot more melody in their songs. Early eighties Bay Area thrash combined with the melody of U.S. metal.
The lot of the songs are rather fast, but there are also some mid-tempo tracks. One of the slower tracks, “Cheat & Pretend” is in my eyes the weakest on the album, it does not have something that keeps me focused. Then I do like “Vale Of Tears” a lot more, the build up of this song reminds me of Metal Church a lot. The other eight tracks are all fine first rate songs that show the class of this band. The recognizable sound of Charly is perhaps something you like or not, I like his voice.
With almost an hour of music, this album is sure worth the money. The songs are perhaps a little longer than the general thrash track, but they have enough variety and are interesting enough not to get boring.
Again a veteran thrash band that knows how to deliver!
