This Finnish thrash band started some years ago and released thier first album when they were very young. The lyrics and song titles were quite simple back then, also the music wasn’t very groundshaking. Their second album ‘Terror Hungry’ was a step ahead and now their third has to underline that they are a band to reckon with.
Well, after the first spin I wasn’t overwhelmed, sure the album sounds very tight and the songwriting is o.k. It is the logical predecessor and perhaps it even sounds better and tighter, but I don’t hear things why they would outshine other new thrash bands. The reason is that it all sounds so familiar and the riffs just too average. The band uses riffs and ideas of bands like Exodus, Overkill, Testament, Anthrax and Megadeth creating new songs that sound good, but I have heard it all too many times before. The lyrics have become a bit more serious but the music never exceeds the average limit.
For me this is a thrash album that is worth listening to, but will not make enough impression that I still remember it at the end of this year. There are enough thrash bands that overtake them left and right. Average thrash, well excecuted and worth listening, but that is about it.
