German Viking metallers VARG have recently signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records. The band’s upcoming album “Das Ende Aller Lügen“, will be released in 2016. More details coming NEXT WEEK!
For now here are some wolfish details of the upcoming EP entitled “Rotkäppchen” – set to be released on October 9th via Napalm Records!
Get ready for this brand new EP, which should not be overlooked as only a segue to the upcoming full length album “Das Ende aller Lügen”!“Rotkäppchen” is rather a gem on its own. It is a magical interlude, which has some treasures hidden between his precious DIN A5-pages: between the classic version from 2011 and an instrumental karaoke-version you’ll find a version both in English (feat Christopher Bows of ALESTORM) and Norwegian (feat TROLLFEST), as well as a recent re-recording that, like on the original, features Anna Murphy of ELUVEITIE. The EP includes special bonus gems, as well as two brand new songs; “Ein Tag Wie Heute” (featuring Dom R. Crey of EQUILIBRIUM) and “Abendrot”, which won’t be found on “Das Ende aller Lügen”.

Since its formation in 2005 in Coburg, Germany, VARG has released four full-length albums, which all made chart entries in Germany and Austria. The band has toured extensively throughout its career, including in North America. These Germans hit the listener right where it hurts with their intense lyrics and modern Viking metal sounds. While the music is quite rich in variety, VARG has always made a conscious effort to stay true to themselves and their influences!

When my old buddy Kenn Jensen asked me if I wanted to contribute to the new site he had created, then called powermetal.dk, I didn't hesitate. My love for metal music was and is great. I wrote my first review during the summer of 2004 (Moonspell's 'Antidote' album). In 2015, I took over the editor-in-chief role.
