V-Anger’s “V-IRUS” (http://www.vanger.it/v-irus.html ) is now available for free download via Sliptrick Records. The band has decided to do so in order to cater to an ever-growing demand, in a world that the web has made extremely fast-paced.
Max Maestrelli, guitarist of the band, says:
A year and a half since our last album “In Shovel We Trust”, the success of the album and the fans’ constant requests for new material prompted us to get back in the game. However, the production process of a full-length is a rather long and time-consuming task. Therefore, on a Spring night, and four beers later (or maybe more… Definitely more) we wrote this new single, “Agent Smith”… A real hammer blow, in pure V-ANGER style. Since then, things happened naturally. We were so stoked about the stuff we came up with that we decided to instantly share it with everyone. We spoke with our label and decided to release it together with a bunch of great live material that we already had and give all of our fans a little “treat”. Why free? We’re not interested in making a profit, otherwise we wouldn’t play metal! I also believe that, nowadays, one has to find to new communication channels and keep up with the times.
The EP contains one ureleased track–recorded at Iron Ape Studio in Vigevano–and four live tracks, which footage was filmed in collaboration with Carlo Meloni, during their gig at Centrale Rock Pub di Erba, on 26th February 2016.
I began my writing career in the year of 2012 due to my love for the metal community, and have since moved onto a second role as the Tech-Wiz of PoM - taking good care of our website. My favourite music genres are Progressive Metal in all its different shapes and Melodic Death Metal.
