Mick Zane (real name Michael Landauer) , co-founding guitarist of Malice, has passed away last night. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor around 2014 and had since undergone a number of operations. Earlier this year a fund-raising initiative was launched to help Zane and his family better cope with his medical treatment.
At time of writing, Malice have yet to release a statement on Zane’s passing but earlier today producer and friend Max Norman posted the following message on his FaceBook page: “Just heard that my old friend Mick Zane has finally succumbed after a long struggle – a huge loss – my condolences to Michelle and family…”
Malice were part of the original wave of Metal bands to emerge from the U.S.A.. The band was formed in 1980 but split up after releasing two albums, including the seminal “Licence To Kill”. Following a 2006 reunion, Malice released another album in 2012: “New Breed Of Godz”.
