After a 9-year hiatus, the biggest indoor metal festival in Eastern Europe – Metalmania, comes back to life! The 23rd edition of this iconic festival will be held on April, 22nd 2017 in Spodek Hall, Katowice (Poland).
Moonspell, Sodom, Arcturus, Tygers of Pan Tang, Furia, Coroner, Obscure Sphinx, Impaled Nazarene, Entombed A.D., ThermiT, Ceti, Animations, Sinister and Samael, have been announced so far.
Polish band Vader is the final addition to the line-up of the main stage. Thaw, Infernal War, In Twilight’s Embrace, Mord’A’Stigmata, Entropia, Stillborn and Mentor will perform on a second stage.
Vader – a cult status band, one of the forerunners of death metal in Poland. Their eleventh studio album entitled “The Empire” was released in November 2016. Formed in 1983, the band was founded by then-bassist, now guitarist Piotr “Peter” Wiwczarek and guitarist Zbigniew “Vika” Wróblewski. Starting as a heavy metal group, Vader eventually went to thrash, speed, and then in the late 1980s became a death metal band. According to Billboard magazine, by 2002 Vader sold approximately 500,000 releases around the world. The band will perform a very special show at Metalmania Festival. More details to follow soon.

The last edition of Metalmania Festival took place at Spodek Hall in Katowice on March, 8th 2008, with Megadeth, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Overkill and Satyricon on the bill!
