announce European tour for spring 2017

Idleness is certainly nothing that can be associated with MANTAR.
Founded in 2013, the band has already seen more international stages in only three years than ever expected, considering their line up and musical style. But hard work, persistence, and constant touring, combined with absolute intransigence has made the band well known and even legendary across the underground and beyond.
With two highly acclaimed deep-black records in tow, MANTAR has toured all over Europe and – already for the 4th time – the US, to confirm their reputation as a bile-spitting live-monster. So it’s no surprise that they couldn’t just sit and rest in 2016. In the course of their most current album release »Ode to the Flame«
(Nuclear Blast), the Bremen-based duo played selected club shows and festivals all over the world and will continue to share their minimalistic-sinister sound in 2017. On their upcoming »Ode to the Flame« – Tour, 18 shows in Germany, Switzerland, England, France, the Netherlands, and, for the first time ever, in South Africa and Japan!
More shows and a killer festival summer ahead/to come.
MANTAR is going to be supported by the Thuringian sledgehammer DESERTED FEAR, who bring just as much energy and authenticity to the stages as the headlining act. It’s well deserved that they are called one of Germany’s most talented death metal bands. They’re going to bring their newest musical offspring »Death Shores Rising«; out in January 2017.
The lineup is completed by Dresden (GER) based
DEATHRITE, who created their own unique sound by uniting the most severe elements of death metal, grindcore and punk and are promising to have a yaw-dropping performance on stage.
Prepare yourself for this toxic live package!
Tickets will go on presale on December 16 at 10am CET.

When my old buddy Kenn Jensen asked me if I wanted to contribute to the new site he had created, then called powermetal.dk, I didn't hesitate. My love for metal music was and is great. I wrote my first review during the summer of 2004 (Moonspell's 'Antidote' album). In 2015, I took over the editor-in-chief role.
