CRYSTAL VIPER are back! New album out in February, cover artwork revealed!
CRYSTAL VIPER are back! The Polish Heavy Metallers are returning after a 4 year absence, which was caused by the health issues relating to the band’s front woman and founder, Marta Gabriel, and which placed the future of CRYSTAL VIPER into question (last year Marta underwent surgery of her nasal and facial sinuses). “The witch is back” however, sounding stronger, heavier and louder than ever before…!
On February 17, 2017, AFM RECORDS will release CRYSTAL VIPER’s new concept album entitled “Queen Of The Witches”. The album, which will be available as a limited edition vinyl LP, CD and digital download, has been produced by Bart Gabriel – producer known for his collaboration with acts such as CIRITH UNGOL, MYTHRA and SACRED STEEL (and within their private lives, Marta’s husband), and engineered and mixed by Mariusz Pietka (JACK STARR’S BURNING STARR, LONEWOLF, MORTICIAN). The album’s cover artwork has been created by the legendary German artist, Andreas Marschall (RUNNING WILD, BLIND GUARDIAN, KREATOR). The first single from the new album will be entitled “The Witch Is Back”, and will be available in December. On February 18, 2017, the band will play an exclusive headlining live show in Munich, Germany, at the Heavy Metal Calling Festival, which will be an official release party for the new album.
BRAINSTORM: remixed version of “Forsake What I Believed” available!
“Memorial Roots” has been the somehow “different” album in the catalogue of German power metallersBRAINSTORM. While delivering high-class songs as always, it mainly was the quite unusual mix that gave some fans a hard time to get into it. Even though it was by full intention of the band back then, “Memorial Roots” sounds different. Looking back now, maybe a bit too different… at least that’s what the band and their record label thought, so the idea was born to release a completely revised version of the album. The band’s longtime sound engineer Achim Köhler (who wasn’t involved in the recordings of “Memorial Roots” back then) was assigned to do a remix of the album. The result: a completely new album – finally sounding Brainstorm from start to finish! For the first time ever, all songs of the “Memorial Roots” sessions (11 from the standard version + Digipak/Vinyl/Japan bonus tracks & the previously unreleased “Forsake What I Believed (edit)”) are featured on one CD. “Memorial Roots (Re-Rooted)” comes with reworked cover- and artwork design in a new Digipak configuration.
Have a listen to the remixed version of “Forsake What I Believed”.
