ENTOMBED today have released a time-lapsed video via their Entombed Clandestine Facebook page that shows illustrator Dan Seagrave (re)creating artwork for the band’s famed Clandestine album; artwork that will be included in their upcoming performances – next weekend’s sold-out Baten Cruise and the band’s special Malmo Live event on November 12.  The live events reunite original members Alex Hellid (guitar), Uffe Cederlund (guitar), and Nicke Andersson (drums) on stage for the first time since 1997.

Clandestine was recorded at Stockholm’s Sunlight Studios.  Produced by Tomas Skogsberg, it is considered a genre milestone.  AllMusic credits it for “setting the stage for successive generations of death-rooted Scandinavian metal bands.”  The band’s infamous buzzsaw guitar riffs and varied tempos quickly catapult them to the forefront of the then exploding global scene.  Hellid says, “Clandestine is a complex beast.  Revisiting it 25 years later is definitely something special.” Cederlund adds, “it’s one of those albums that you hear something new every time you listen to it.  I like albums like that.”

Decibel Magazine will induct the album into its Hall Of Fame series in their December issue (on newsstands early November).  Editor Albert Mudrian says Clandestine is, “one of the greatest death metal records – Swedish, or otherwise – of all time.”

When my old buddy Kenn Jensen asked me if I wanted to contribute to the new site he had created, then called powermetal.dk, I didn't hesitate. My love for metal music was and is great. I wrote my first review during the summer of 2004 (Moonspell's 'Antidote' album). In 2015, I took over the editor-in-chief role.
