THIRD SOVEREIGN (India) – ‘Perversion Swallowing Sanity’
Genre – Old School Death Metal Release Date – January 15th, 2016 Record Label – Transcending Obscurity India (sub-label)
Third Sovereign are a legendary death metal band in the country of India. Known for their intense and rabid live shows, they have taken almost a decade to come up with a follow up album to the sold out classic that’s ‘Destined to Suffer’. Third Sovereign whip up a storm with their thrash-tinged proto-death metal that hearkens back to the era of bands like Sepultura, Monstrosity, Cannibal Corpse and Vader. The members are die-hard old school metalheads and their passion for the genre hasn’t diminished despite having relocated to a remote region in the North-Eastern section of the country, in Aizwal, Mizoram. Not many bands from the country are able to play death metal that’s so pure in intent and Third Sovereign clearly separate the men from the boys. This is classic-sounding thrashy death metal that most metalheads have weaned on in their formative years. ‘Perversion Swallowing Sanity’ is a throwback to an era of unanimous unity and respect for well-written and performed death metal, regardless of the trends and stylistic differences. Third Sovereign are back to reclaim their throne.

Transcending Obscurity – webzine, record label and PR company
When my old buddy Kenn Jensen asked me if I wanted to contribute to the new site he had created, then called powermetal.dk, I didn't hesitate. My love for metal music was and is great. I wrote my first review during the summer of 2004 (Moonspell's 'Antidote' album). In 2015, I took over the editor-in-chief role.
