Interview with VARDIS

Who would have imagined that we’d be hearing from them again? Vardis formed a prominent part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) scene. The band was active as early as 1973 as Quo Vardis but the Quo suffix was soon dropped from the band name in 1977 to avoid confusion with Status Quo. Four albums (including a live one) later, in the mid-1980s, the band split up for good. Well, almost……

In 2014, the band staged a return and on the 18th of July 2015, Vardis released their fist record in almost 30 years: the EP “200 M.P.H.”. It was on that same day that the following interview took place. (Divided into 2 parts.)

Current line-up:
Steve Zodiac – guitars, vocals
Terry Horbury – bass
Joe Clancy – drums
Album discography:
Vigilante (1986)
Quo Vardis (1982)
The World’s Insane (1981)
100 MPH (Live album – 1980)
