<p>VOIVOD – Returning to tour Europe with Gwar in November/December!</p>
<p>While Canadian progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOIVOD are completing their current European summer touring run, they have now announced next touring activity in support of their current and much acclaimed studio effort “The Wake”, which was released via Century Media Records worldwide last September. Next to comprehensive tour of North America for September-October with Revocation, VOIVOD will also be returning to Europe and the UK together with the one and only Gwar in November-December.</p>

Next to an upcoming European summer run, they have now announced a next tour of North America for September-October with Revocation, Psycroptic, Skeletal Remains and Conjurer.</p>
<p>VOIVOD drummer Michel “Away“ Langevin checked in as follows in regards to the band‘s next activities:</p>
<p>“This fall we hit the road and co-headline with our friends Revocation. We&#8217;re thrilled to go on tour again to play some songs from The Wake in many cities we haven&#8217;t played since the new release.</p>

<p>SKELETAL REMAINS returning to Europe this summer and announce US tour with Revocation &amp; Voivod</p>
<p>After releasing their much-acclaimed album “Devouring Mortality” in April 2018, LA death metallers SKELETAL REMAINS have been touring constantly and are now confirmed to join Revocation, Voivod and Psycroptic on an extensive US run in September/October. Prior to that, SKELETAL REMAINS will be performing at several European festivals as well as support Hatebreed on selected shows. The band comments:</p>

<p>VOIVOD – Win JUNO Award/ Commence North American Tour/ Announce European Summer Dates!</p>
<p>Congratulations are due to Canadian progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOIVOD for winning a Juno Award (Canadian equivalent to the Grammy Awards) for “Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year” for their current studio effort “The Wake”, which was released via Century Media Records worldwide last September.</p>
<p>After previous nominations for “Nothingface“ in 1991 and “Angel Rat“ in 1993, the 2019 award is a first in the 36 years of VOIVOD history. Well deserved! <p>Next to a standard jewelcase CD edition and a Digital Album release, “The Wake“ is also available as limited 2CD Mediabook edition with a bonus disc of 11 tracks featuring the 5 songs off 2016’s “Post Society” EP as well 6 live tracks from 2018’s 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise, alternate artwork, an expanded booklet of 32 pages and a set of 3 stickers. The 2LP release of “The Wake” comes on either black or various limited runs of coloured 180gr. vinyl with an etching design on Side D, packaged in a gatefold sleeve and with a double-sided poster.</p>
<p>VOIVOD’s “The Wake” was recorded and mixed by Francis Perron at RadicArt Recording Studio in Canada and its artwork was once again created by VOIVOD drummer Michel “Away” Langevin. The album entered sales charts in various countries upon release as follows: Germany: # 26, Switzerland: # 51, Belgium (Wallonia): # 94, USA Current: # 97, USA New Artist: # 8 and USA Overall: # 148.</p>

<blockquote><p>“ The most difficult task of an illustrator is to work for his all-time favourite bands. Then he becomes extremely exigent with what he creates and wants to get beyond any known limit. Obviously, this type of experiences are priceless by all means at the same time, because everything goes utterly intense and he feels like a starship exploring the Universe at full warp speed and experiencing several amazing unseen worlds per second. &#8220;The Wake&#8221; is the album of the year 2018 for me and the video I literally built from scratch for &#8220;Iconspiracy&#8221; follows the song lyrics and the spaces between them. At the same time, both the story and video fight to remain alive while trying to keep up with the infernal dynamics of the song, which represent another musical proof of the VOIVOD’s genius. <p>Canadian progressive sci-fi metal innovators VOIVOD have recently announced a release date of September 21st, 2018 for their upcoming new studio album “The Wake” via Century Media Records worldwide.</p>
<p>Today, the band is excited to launch ”The Wake” by presenting you its first single and video (Directed and edited by Eric Massicotte &amp; Pierre Duplessis) for the album’s opening track “Obsolete Beings“.</p>

<p>VOIVOD’s “The Wake” is the highly anticipated successor to 2013’s “Target Earth” album as well as the 2016 mini-album “Post Society”. The album was recorded and mixed by Francis Perron at RadicArt Recording Studio in Canada and its artwork (as well as the art for the attached singles, to be seen above!) was once again created by VOIVOD drummer Michel “Away” Langevin.</p>
<p>VOIVOD, who are currently celebrating their 35th band-anniversary, will begin a first European touring run in support of “The Wake” with rotating support by Maggot Heart (from 7th until 16th Sept), Nightrage (from 18th until 26th Sept) and Bio-Cancer (from 28th Sept until 20th Oct) on September 7th.
