Serbian metal band Quasarborn have just released a video for the song „Atlas“, announcing their second album „A Pill Hard to Swallow.“
“Atlas” announces Quasraborn’s new album which will redefine the band’s sound, introducing a lot more variety
Serbian metal band Quasarborn has announced their new album entitled “A Pill Hard to Swallow” with a video for the song “Atlas”. The video was shot in the Serbian mining region of Bor by Jovana Uzelac, and edited by Luka Matković (vocals, guitars). Maintaining their DIY methods, the album was produced by Luka Matković, and the cover was designed by Marko Danilović Tihi (drums). The release date is expected to be in summer/autumn 2019.
Luka Matković states:
“A Pill Hard to Swallow” is a lot more versatile than our debut. There are still some pretty straight-forward thashers, like the opener “Mamula”, but I don’t think anyone expected us to write songs like “Identity Catharsis”, or “Clouds”. Even though our roots still lie in thrash metal, it was a very natural progression for us to drop many genre boundaries and implement influenced ranging from brutal death metal to pop music. The lyrics are very personal, writing them was like therapy for me, and while there’s no clear concept, or story like on “The Odyssey to Room 101”, there’s a very unique sentiment to them which makes this album a whole.
As for “Atlas”, it is one of the more classic metal/rock songs on the album. It deals with a person who always felt alone growing up, surrounded by enemies, and was generally unable to connect with most people. At one point he realises that everyone’s just as lost as him in the game of life, and all conflict and misery is mostly just a concequence of misunderstanding, so he decides to drop the grudges and forgive humankind and is released from this heavy burden.”

Serbian technical thrashers Quasarborn have just released their latest music video for the song Crash Course in Life, upon returning from their first ever European tour.
This is the sixth entry in Quasraborn’s videography, following five singles off their debut album: The Odyssey to Room 101, Danse Macabre, Escape into Reality, Château d’If and Blood Honey.
“Crash Course in Life is about a young, careless, young metalhead who is struck by the cruelness of reality without any warning and forced to grow up. Responsibilities and pain of an adult pressure him in a way he can’t handle. He feels a huge gap between what was the core of his identity and what he is today. This is just the first chapter in the album’s story, then things start to heat up…”
Luka Matković – Vocals, guitars
Marko Danilović Tihi – Drums
Đorđe Luković – Guitars
Miloš Tomasović – Bass guitar
The nucleus of this band dates back to 2005, when Đorđe Luković (guitar and backing vocals), Marko Danilović Tihi (drums) and Luka Matković (guitar and lead vocals) formed a band at a tender age, hailing from Belgrade, Serbia. After the break up of that band, Luka and Tihi formed Fatality and their partnership continued throughout the years, when they finally joined Space Eater, a legendary Serbian thrash metal band, in 2009, in which they were joined by Đorđe, just a few years down the line.Under the Space Eater flag, they toured Europe twice, recorded two albums (“Aftershock” and “Passing through the Fire to Molech”), played the legendary Exit festival, etc. With more than enough experience under their belt gathered over the past few years, the three of the aforementioned members decided to leave the Space Eater ranks and to form a band of their own, recruiting yet another old acquaintance, Miloš Tomasović (bass guitar and backing vocals).
Finally, it is 2016 and the four members of the band settled upon the name “Quasarborn”. Our debut album is recorded and mixed and ready to go, and while our musical roots are still firmly rooted in the late 80s thrash metal style, there is a lot more variety this time around, with influences creeping up out of numerous genres (such as death, black and heavy metal, classic and progressive rock, and even some jazz and ethno). Besides the music itself, what Quasarborn really takes a lot of pride in, is the fact that that we are a DIY band. Namely, our music is recorded and mixed by Luka (for Citadela Sound Production) and Tihi is the one responsible for all the visual material Quasarborn-related. “The Odyssey to Room 101”, the band’s debut album came out in May this year, and they have just returned from their first European tour, so stick around and embark on the odyssey to Room 101 with us!
]]>Serbian metalheads Quasarborn will be releasing their debut album “The Odyssey to Room 101” this Friday, 18th May. The album will be available on all digital platforms and on CDs.
A play-through video for the track “Château d’If” will be premiered with the release. You can find the video on the following link: https://youtu.be/8ycDDRN-MPo
So far, the band has released two videos for the songs “Danse Macabre” and “The Odyssey to Room 101”.
The band states:
As the title suggests, the title track from our debut album is heavily influenced by both George Orwell’s “1984” and Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World“. It represents the final chapter in the album’s storyline, portraying the dreadful final hours of the protagonist in which he is tortured, and stripped of every last bit of humanity, dignity and identity – a fate worse, or equal to death.“The Odyssey to Room 101” is the longest song on the record, but is also probably the most versatile, and dynamic. It is intense, powerful, angry, and yet melodic and structured at the same time.It really sums up the essence of the band up until this point.

]]>Serbian metal band Quasarborn has just released their new single, a followup to last year’s Danse Macabre. The band states:
“Blood Honey is short, simple, in-your-face and a more traditional thrash sounding song compared to the others on the album. Tihi (drums) came up with the name some years ago, and it fit perfectly on a song about war for oil, modern warfare based on false flag operations, fake news and people in power using these circumstances to pursue their agenda. But, who will you rule after everyone’s dead?”
