The Andorran prog-death masters Persefone will be headlining their first ever tour in North America this August/September, in conjunction with their show at the prestigious ProgPower festival in Atlanta.
Persefone will bring “The Aathma tour – The Cosmic Walkers”, to their rapidly growing audience in both Mexico, USA and Canada, following their latest release “Aathma” which has been unsurprisingly successful on this continent. The demand for the band has been very high among the North American fans, and Persefone is not a band that tend to ignore their fans!
Miguel Espinosa/Keys/clean vocals comments:
“”It’s been a long time since we announced that we were preparing a North American Tour. Today, the day has finally come where we can announce the tour itself! In August we will finally cross the Atlantic to meet our fans and friends personally there and we simply cannot wait! Mexico, United States and Canada! A dream come true! See you all there!!””
The 10-show tour will take Persefone to some of the largest cities on the North American continent, such as Mexico City, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Atlanta.Persefone is bringing along the thrash/power veterans Manticora from Denmark, as support act on the tour. Manticora are releasing their 8th album in August – a concept album, following the release of the novel “To Kill To Live To Kill”, written by the band themselves, so the timing is perfect. Manticora has previously been touring the US as support for Jon Oliva’s Pain.

Almost four years have passed since PERSEFONE unleashed their highly-acclaimed album Spiritual Migration. An impressive tour-de-force of insanely great musicianship that took both the press and the listeners by storm (1.5 million views on YouTube).
With a new guitarist and a new drummer PERSEFONE have now taken their music to the next level with the release of their brand-new album Aathma (ViciSolum Records) in 2017. Aathma was mixed and mastered by legendary producer Jens Bogren in his Fascination Street Studios (Sweden). The album includes the epic 20-minute title-track, with guest appearances from vocalist Merethe Soltvedt and Leprous guitarist Øystein Landsverk.
Aathma also features Cynic’s Paul Masvidal, appearing on the song ‘Living Waves’, as well as on ‘An Infinitesimal Spark’. The amazing cover art is created by none other than Travis Smith, who shouldn’t need further introduction.

]]>Persefone is heading on tour next March 23rd!
]]>In celebration of the up-coming European tour, starting out on March 24th, Persefone have decided to treat the fans with a brand-new track, honoring the immense support of said fans.”In Lak’Ech” is a song, incorporating elements and atmospheres from the band’s entire back catalogue and should aim at satisfying any Persefone listener, no matter which previous album is your favourite.
Miguel Espinosa (keys/clean vocals) explains:
“There’s been a lot of stuff going on lately in the Persefone camp. Tours, festivals, new releases… And from time to time we like to get ourselves involved in new musical experiences, other than playing live. So after our tour in Japan we came back full of ideas and we jumped into the studio and started working on what would become “In Lak’Ech”. The conceptual idea of the unity of the human, being the whole Universe, got us really inspired and it took us only two days to have the song ready. Then we contacted Logan Mader to make the mixing and Tim Charles from Ne Obliviscaris for him to participate in the song. As smooth as the song writing, both the mix, the violin and vocal part worked perfectly with the mood of the moment, and we are really glad to have finished this song that we will play on our upcoming tours!”
“In Lak’Ech” is set for release on March 23rd, as a 12″ vinyl single, as well as through streaming, worldwide through Vicisolum Records. Artwork for the single is attached in this email.
Persefone is the new rising star on the European progressive melodeath scene. Having released 5 critically acclaimed albums of extreme technical skills and fantastic songwriting, this band has climbed from being an unknown band from Andorra to claiming headliner status in Europe.
Persefone has previously toured the continent, as support for Obituary and Leprous, until they, co-headlined alongside Loch Vostok, and after the 2017 Persefone headliner tour, it’s now about time to gain even more European ground, thus the “Aathma tour – part 2”.
