Sweden’s melodic death/doom metallers OCTOBER TIDE, who recently released their new studio album “In Splendor Below”, will hit the road as direct support to SWALLOW THE SUN this autumn. The band’s European tour will commence on October 31st and run through November 17th. In July, prior to the tour, OCTOBER TIDE will perform at Exit Festival in Serbia, Metaldays Festival in Slovenia and Peace & Love Festival in Sweden, among other festivals.

It packs some of the most authentic and unique compositions from the capable hands of founding member and long-time Katatonia guitarist, Fredrik Norrman, his brother and guitarist Mattias Norrman (ex-Katatonia), vocalist Alexander Högbom (Demonical), bassist Johan Jönsegård (Letters From The Colony) and drummer Jonas Sköld (Letters From The Colony / Thenighttimeproject). While Fredrik prefers for the music to speak for itself, he finds the new album “a bit more aggressive, a bit more death metal, and with an overall colder feeling than previous records”.
“In Splendor Below” album was mixed and mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén at Tri-Lamd studios (Bloodbath, Katatonia, Breach, Craft). It was produced by Alexander Backlund from Nailvillage Studio (Thenighttimeproject / Letters From Colony) and OCTOBER TIDE. Tomarum av Christine Linde created the cover artwork.
The band is planning a tour in support of the new album in November and December of 2019. In the meantime, they’ll perform at In The Grip Of Winter Festival (NL), Exit Festival (SRB) and MetalDays Festival (SI). More dates are on the way.

]]>OCTOBER TIDE’s Fredrik Norrman (ex-Katatonia), co-founder and guitarist of the Swedish, melodic death metal group, reports that the band has been writing songs for their sixth studio album, follow-up to “Winged Waltz” from 2016, and has booked a studio for the end of November, to start the recording process.
Norrman commented:
“We havn’t made much noise about this so far, but we have written a bunch of songs latley. In fact, we have almost a whole album more or less finished”.
The plans are to have the album – whose mixing and mastering duties will be handeled by Karl Daniel Liden (Bloodbath, Katatonia, Cult Of Luna) – completed by late January, and released on Agonia Records in spring 2019.
OCTOBER TIDE’s last live appearance took place in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) on October 26th. Shortly before the recording sessions, the band will travel south to Bucharest (Romania), where they’ll perform at the Metal Gates Festival with Rotting Christ, Shining and Draconian. Whilst recording the album, they’ll play a show at December Doom Festival in Vantaa (Finland), with plans to do a special setlist from their debut release, “Rain Without End”.
