METAL HAMMER (D)
“With »Renegades«, the epic metal band have taken a step in a new direction without denying their roots.
The new masterpiece from EQUILIBRIUM.”
LEGACY (D)
“Compositionally demanding, but definitely one of EQUILIBRIUM’s strongest works.”
Powermetal.de
The new masterpiece of German epic metal pioneers EQUILIBRIUM, »Renegades,« is out now. The album is heralding a watershed, the turn of an era for this genre. This is metal at its most epic and most monumental, bearing huge songs, resting firmly in the Zeitgeist with a massive, modern production and sporting quite a number of eclectic influences. Above all, it’s still EQUILIBRIUM – quite possibly more than ever.
In celebration of the momentous event, the band offer fans a music video for ‘Final Tear.’ Check out the infectious song and video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsbMQihWHyc
The band states: “Finally the wait is over and we can release our new album »Renegades« today. We have put a lot of work and passion into this record, and as a result we have our most personal album so far. At the same time we are releasing a music video for probably the most important song on this album, ‘Final Tear.’ EQUILIBRIUM has always written about respecting the planet and it’s inhabitants, especially those who are in the minority or have no voice. This song is exactly about that.”

Last week, the band released the second digital single “Path of Destiny”. The song is available on all major streaming and download platforms: http://nblast.de/EquilibriumDestiny
Today, the band presents the official video clip of the song.
Check it out here: https://youtu.be/L6TqqOeKFKA
Berthammer states:
“Path of Destiny’s music video is actually a loveletter to humanity and it’s diversity, but at the same time a reminder and warning, packed with serious topics into a strange and colourful fictive 80s world.
It’s about how people’s life lines collide in kinda strange ways and how all of us unconsciously influence other people’s lives every single day. Which is kinda interesting…as most of us humans don’t really care that much about others, but we are all connected. We all do feel the same things, we fear the same things and we all struggle sometimes. But one single smile, word or gesture at the right time and the right place can actually change another persons whole life. Isn’t that powerful?!
Humans are super interesting beings and it’s amazing to actually see how an action leads to an reactions. And how emotions guide our actions.
All of us have decisions to make, whether we like it or not, whether they are right or wrong in the end…we have to make them. That’s just how our universe works.Diversity is beautiful and instead of being afraid of it or even fear it, we should learn to love it. Our human mind is the most powerful weapon. Use it wisely.
Don’t judge so rashly. Offer an open mind and an open heart instead. Listen. Give people a smile.
And maybe you will unconsciously access someone else’s path of destiny.”

Mastermind René Berthiaume states:
]]>“We can’t wait to return with new music after 3 years. Musically as well as lyrically “Renegades” has definitely become our most uncompromising and personal album to date. We are especially proud of the introduction of our new members: Skadi has been one of the driving forces behind Equilibrium for many years now. She has mainly been responsible for artwork, designs, musical and lyrical input and will now support us live on the synths in a few months’ time.
Skar, on the other hand, has become a completely new part of the Equilibrium family. Some of you might already know him from his work on YouTube as Skar Productions. On the current album he gave us outstanding additional (clean) vocals as well as bass tracks and the logical consequence was that he joined us permanently. So there’s a lot going on with us right now.
At the same time we want to say a big thank you to Makki who smashed the bass live for us during the past 2,5 years. You rock!
We love to develop further; standing still would be our inner death. So you can be curious about what’s coming!”
On April 13th, Boston’s rock/metal outfit GOZU will release their new album, ‘Equilibrium‘, via Blacklight Media Records. For another preview of ‘Equilibrium‘, the new single, ‘Manimal’, can be heard now via TheObelisk.net at: theobelisk.net

With roots in 60s psychedelia and classic rock, the fuzzy stoner riffs of the 70s, the grit of 90s grunge and the winning dirty rock n’ roll that has in recent years made a resurgence, GOZU has been churning out killer records since 2009. With 2016’s ‘Revival‘ they took their sound in a somewhat new and more aggressive direction, and in doing so, dropped the most compulsive, exciting and downright badass release of their career – and ‘Equilibrium‘ has only raised the stakes.
“We wanted these songs to hit a nerve, make people shake their ass and enjoy simply being alive,” says vocalist/guitarist Marc “Gaff” Gaffney, who founded the band with lead guitarist Doug Sherman. Much of the record’s strength stems from the unit growing since ‘Revival‘, the first full-length featuring drummer Mike Hubbard and bassist Joseph Grotto. Having also reunited with ‘Revival‘ producer Dean Baltulonis (Hatebreed/Goes Cube/The Hold Steady) at Wild Arctic Studio in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the record is certainly the catchiest and most instant music dropped by the quartet, embracing their love of pop music but without compromising on any of the other vital elements of their sound.
