EDENBRIDGE

EDENBRIDGE will release their new, 10th studio album “DYNAMIND” October 25th, 2019.

Any band wanting to leave their mark in our fast-lived world needs first and foremost two things: compositional substance and consistency. After all there are plenty of one-hit wonders in this industry, those overnight sensations with their artificial fast food-like products that frequently don’t even have the shelf-life of fresh fruit and veg. Edenbridge, on the other hand, have already proved their great musical potential, nine studio albums since their debut in 2000, in addition to a number of live recordings, DVDs and compilations speaking for themselves. Having said that, it’s surprising that the Austrian band surrounding vocalist Sabine Edelsbacher have once again succeeded in raising the bar for symphonic melodic metal even further with their latest album “Dynamind”. Composer and multi-instrumentalist Lanvall has produced another offering that’s ambitioned in every respect and will without a doubt go down in the band’s history as their toughest release to date.

Tracklisting:

1. THE MEMORY HUNTER (5.02)
2. LIVE AND LET GO (4.28)
3. WHERE OCEANS COLLIDE (4.07)
4. ON THE OTHER SIDE (4.48)
5. ALL OUR YESTERDAYS (4.56)
6. THE EDGE OF YOUR WORLD (5.50)
7. TAUERNGOLD (5.34)
8. WHAT DREAMS MAY COME (5.58)
9. THE LAST OF HIS KIND (12.11)
10. DYNAMIND (2.12)

“Dynamind” will be released worldwide through Steamhammer/SPV on October 25th, 2019 as 2CD digipak version2LP gatefold version, download and stream:

EDENBRIDGE announce new studio album! https://newsite.powerofmetal.dk/?p=61567 https://newsite.powerofmetal.dk/?p=61567#respond Wed, 13 Feb 2019 09:37:36 +0000 https://powerofmetal.dk/?p=61567 [Read »]]]> image001-13.png

EDENBRIDGE will release their new, 10th studio album “DYNAMIND” in 2019 and are currently inmidst the recordings.

Lanvall:

“The whole songwriting process for the new album took around 18 months and I soon realized, that we could bring the band sound to a new level. Our trademark sound of course is still there, nevertheless we have numerous interesting experiments on the album, where we explore new shores. Let it be the irish sounding song “ON THE OTHER SIDE”, the half-ballad “TAUERNGOLD” with its doom elements, or the 12 minutes epic longtrack “THE LAST OF HIS KIND”. Even after the long songwriting and arranging process I am still super excited with the new songs!”

Sabine:

“As Lanvall already mentioned, the recordings to our new album are fully on and what I heard so far in the studio is more than promising. But this is only the beginning and it already sounds huge. So I am really burning to be behind the microphone soon to contribute my part. “DYNAMIND” seems to have a very special energy and will probably turn much upside down. Be prepared!”

Seven Kingdoms – Decennium https://newsite.powerofmetal.dk/?p=20454 https://newsite.powerofmetal.dk/?p=20454#respond Fri, 05 May 2017 13:51:16 +0000 http://powerofmetal.dk/?post_type=album-review&p=20454 [Read »]]]> There are a lot of bands with the number seven in their name. In my collection there are quite a few. So when I saw the name Seven Kingdoms, I had to think twice if there was an album from them. I found out that I own their debut, called Brothers of the Night. It didn’t ring any bells with me, so I took a short listen. I heard a mix of power, thrash, and even death metal with harsh and clean vocals from a below average singer. Since then the band has released three albums and an EP. The first big lineup change was after their first album, when Sabrina Valentine (Cruz) joined the band. By adding a female vocalist the music changed, and now they play a combination of U.S. and European power metal.

‘Stargazer’ opens fast, and I immediately hear that Mrs. Cruz is a good singer. She’s a mix of Sabina Edelsbacher (Edenbridge) and Amy Lee (Evanscence). Aaron Sluss adds some nice bass parts and the guitar duo of Camden Cruz and Kevin Byrd finishes it off with some tight riffs and excellent solos. At times the riffs are quite thrashy, creating a musical style mix of Helloween, Cellador, Edenbridge, and Iced Earth. There are no ballads, just speed, power, and headbanging stuff. Variety and melody are two other aspects I have to add. The song writing is okay, and there is not a track to fill up the album. ‘The Tales of Deathface Ginny’ is flourished by nice choir singing parts, which forms a fine contrast with the heavy riffs.

At the end of the over 50 minutes music, I can conclude that I like the album. Speed, melody, heavy riffs, good female singing, nice solos, and nicely written songs are everything good music needs. Take a listen to this fourth birth of Seven Kingdoms if bands like Helloween, Edenbridge, Iced Earth, or Cellador are favorites in your collection.
