INSOMNIUM – Release Single & Video To „Valediction“
On October 4th , 2019, Finnish melodic death metal masters INSOMNIUM are going to release their new album “HEART LIKE A GRAVE” via Century Media Records worldwide. To get a first glimpse of their new masterpiece, watch the video to “Valediction” HERE!
The impressive video was shot by Vesa Ranta and Aapo Lahtela at Kaira Films, who shot two videos in the same session with the band in the beginning of summer. These two videos are bound together, so they form one longer story.
The band comments:
”When the album theme is to dive deep into the black waters of Finnish melancholy, then Vesa Ranta is truly the right man to visualize the story. Album booklet is crafted from Vesa’s epic landscape photos and these same themes continue in the two videos that we shot at Koli national park. Woods and lakes, sorrow and longing. That’s the heart of Insomnium.” (INSOMNIUM)
”Insomnium is one of those bands that have been inspiring us. We have wanted to work with them for long time. Valediction is the beginning that sets the mood and presents the characters. The story will unfold in the next music video that will be released later. And as the album theme demands this tale here is grim indeed” (RANTA & LAHTELA)

Last year Century Media Records welcomed the mysterious producer known as GOST, who embodies the character of Baalberith on his propulsive synthwave solo project that is channeling his fascination with the occult, John Carpenter and 80s slasher flicks.
As a teenager he played in metal bands, but eventually drifted toward electronic music which would later become the foundation of his powerful synthwave/retrowave sound. With its haunting atmospherics and aesthetics influenced by the blackest corners of the metal world his music quickly garnered GOST a loyal following within the rock and metal community worldwide. Apart from playing his own headlining tours in Europe and North America he used the interest from his growing fan base to hit the road with the likes of diverse acts such as Pertubator, Carpenter Brut, 3TEETH, Pallbearer, Black Dahlia Murder, Power Trip, Khemmis, Havok and Skeletal Remains. Earlier this year GOST announced the invocation of Carreau who joined Baalberith live on stage. For the recording, mix and mastering of the new opus, “Valediction”, GOST teamed up with Jaime Gomez Arellano who worked with the likes of Paradise Lost, Solstafir, Priomordial, Myrkur and many more. The result is a volatile mix that ranges from synthwave/retrowave to the most raging and extreme caverns of black metal. Furthermore, it should come as no surprise that GOST will be touring with the legendary Mayhem and Gaahls Wyrd in Europe in November.

BLACK CROWN INITIATE – Sign With Century Media Records
Having released two critically hailed, fan-worshipped works of progressive death metal, 2014’s Wreckage of Stars and its 2016 follow-up Selves We Cannot Forgive, BLACK CROWN INITIATE have found a new label home with Century Media. Formed in Reading, Pennsylvania in 2012, BLACK CROWN INITIATE have created a stir that’s stretched far beyond the underground with a sound that is at once sweeping, chaotic and epic in scope and ambition.
“It’s an incredible time for us as a band,” says guitarist and vocalist Andy Thomas. “We definitely have the most cohesive lineup we’ve ever had and cliché as it sounds, we are just finishing writing what we feel is our best album. To be on a label like Century Media with the pedigree that it has and the enthusiasm the people behind it have is refreshing as well. It’s a new chapter and in many ways a new beginning for us.”
Joining mainstays Thomas, vocalist James Dorton and bassist Nick Shaw is original BCI guitarist, Ethan McKenna, whose time with the band dates back to its 2013 EP, Crippled Bull . That early recording created a stir for BLACK CROWN INITIATE and found them touring as an unsigned band with the likes of Behemoth, Goatwhore and 1349. “In many ways it feels like things have come full circle,” says Thomas. “Ethan couldn’t be a full-time member back then because of personal obligations. In fact, he was the only guitar student of mine I told that I couldn’t teach anything else to!” In addition, drummer Samuel Santiago, who has played with Canadian deathsters Beyond Creation and France’s Gorod, has taken up drumming duties.
Says Century Media Director Philipp Schulte:
“Selves We Cannot Forgive was one of the most surprising and surely one of the most visionary albums of 2016, and a prime example for innovation and dynamics, progression and atmosphere, elegance and subtlety. We are very happy to welcome the phenomenal BLACK CROWN INITIATE to Century Media Records, and we are looking forward to a long-lasting relationship!”
BLACK CROWN INITIATE plan on returning to the studio for the band’s third album shortly after their upcoming tour of Europe with Rivers of Nihil, Møl and Orbit Culture which begins on September 20 and runs through mid-October. Before the band leaves for Europe, they will be previewing new music and giving fans a taste of what’s to come.
“In many ways, BLACK CROWN INITIATE has distinguished themselves as one of the most creative and compelling bands out there,” says Century Media US A&R Mike Gitter. “We’re excited to be part of their journey and can’t wait to see where it goes next.”
Said Metal Hammer’s Dom Lawson of Selves We Cannot Forgive: “This band’s mastery of dynamics, their refined use of quiet and contrast and the technical skill required to actually play this stuff all combine to make the perfect antidote to formulaic metal for the ADHD generation. BLACK CROWN INITIATE are progressive but still joyously metal as fuck.”

MASS WORSHIP sign with Century Media Records
Hailing out of Scandinavia, MASS WORSHIP is a darkened metal band tastefully adding onto the rich legacy of Scandinavian metal with their uniquely heavy and gritty sound. The Stockholm based band was officially formed in January 2018, but the members carry a rich history comprising of relentless touring and recording schedules and the future that lies ahead of MASS WORSHIP will be no different.
On the back of the release of the “Spiritual Destitution” single (Isolation Records) the band set out on the road sharing stages across genres with diverse bands such as Vader, Comeback Kid, Malevolence and now-label mates Implore – followed by a year of meticulously working on their debut album, that is set for a release through Century Media Records later this year.
The band comments:
“We’re very excited to announce that we have signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records. It’s a huge honor being a part of one of the world’s most notable metal-labels and joining forces with titans such as At The Gates, Napalm Death, Arch Enemy, Entombed A.D., The Haunted and many more influential artists. We have worked tediously on our debut record and we can’t wait to share it with you all very soon.”
The following gentlemen are already avid supporters of MASS WORSHIP:
Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates): “MASS WORSHIP brings back the gnarliness and attitude of the days of Breach and other more metal tinged hardcore bands from that era, I am struck by the energy and the ferocity in the delivery. Great stuff indeed. Prepare to get crushed!”
Marco Aro (The Haunted): “I’m so stoked about my friends in MASS WORSHIP finally getting their stuff out there… this gritty HM-2 onslaught is going to have you gasping for air right from the get go! I’ve been a fan of this band since the beginning… so big up to my boys… enjoy the ride ahead!”
Jonas Renkse (Katatonia, Bloodbath): ”Good to see our buddies in MASS WORSHIP finally release a full-length. I’m sure their patented gritty machinery of death-y sludge will destroy some ears out there!”
Stay tuned for more news from MASS WORSHIP who shall bring you heavy riffs out of the Scandinavian darkness!
“Black Anima is all of us.
It’s you and it’s me, it’s everything we hide and fiercely expose to a world that’s halfway asleep.
It is the fogged mirror we are peering into searching for the truth.
It’s sacrifice and pain, it’s justice and fear, it’s fury and revenge, it’s past and future….
Human beings in the magnificence of a disturbing ambiguity.
The black core that balances it all… as without darkness light would never exist.
We proudly present to you our new work and can’t wait to welcome you in our embrace.
We are the Anima.”
– Cristina Scabbia, LACUNA COIL.
“Black Anima” is the follow up to LACUNA COIL’s “Delirium” (2016), which entered the charts in the US (#16 Current Album Chart, #2 Hard Rock Chart) and all over Europe and “THE 119 SHOW – LIVE IN LONDON”, which was released in late 2018 to celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary.
Stay tuned for more news, soon!
LACUNA COIL will be playing some more festival show in summer and will be on extended European tour together with Swiss Folk Metal band Eluveitie and their friends in Infected Rain.

Touring Europe with Nile & Hate Eternal!
On September 6, 2019, Century Media Records will release “To Bathe from the Throat of Cowardice”, the first album by Portland, Oregon’s death metal group VITRIOL.
Fronted by the dual vocal assault given from guitarist Kyle Rasmussen and bassist Adam Roethlisberger, driven by the inhuman drummer Scott Walker, VITRIOL proved to make a successful strike at the genre’s heart with their 2017 EP, “Pain Will Define Their Death”. Released via Italy’s Everlasting Spew, it already provided a shockingly intense glimpse at the whirlwind that is to be unfurled on the much anticipated debut record, “To Bathe from the Throat of Cowardice”.
Featuring classy artwork by Joe Petagno (Motörhead, Krisiun, Angelcorpse), the album offers 44 minutes of utmost sincere and vicious music embodying a radicalness and personality rarely heard within the genre. Rasmussen states:
“The spirit of VITRIOL is to take the uncompromising, thrashy, punky, spirit of the late 90s extreme death and bring it to a world that has been numbed by records that have abandoned all life in favor of shrink wrapped, candy coated articulation,”
1. The Parting of a Neck
2. Crowned in Retaliation
3. Legacy of Contempt
4. I Drown Nightly
5. The Rope Calls You Brother
6. A Gentle Gift
7. Violence, a Worthy Truth
8. Victim
9. Hive Lungs
10. Pain Will Define Their Death
Shortly after the album’s release, VITRIOL will join Nile’s A Vile Desolate Sands Tour 2019 kicking off September 10, VITRIOL comments:
“We have the true honor to be entering Europe for the first time with the kings in Nile and Hate Eternal. The weight of this opportunity is not lost on us, and it is one we will approach with respect and sincere devotion.”

BORKNAGAR reveal cover and release date of new album “True North”
Extend deal with Century Media Records
The upcoming album by Norway’s avant-garde Metallers BORKNAGAR, entitled “True North”, will be released by Century Media Records/Sony Music on September 27th, 2019. Following up 2016’s acclaimed “Winter Thrice” release, the new BORKNAGAR effort has once again been mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden.
BORKNAGAR founder and guitarist Øystein G. Brun comments:
“This has indeed been a thunderous ride, and we are truly excited to finally start revealing some news about our upcoming album. We have spent almost 2 years writing, recording and producing ”True North” and we are extremely proud of what we have achieved this time around. On behalf of the whole band, I can firmly say that we have pushed the limits of our musical exploration, while our musical roots have grown even deeper into the northern ground. This is the most diverse, powerful and grandiose BORKNAGAR album to date! Let there be no doubt!
Yet again we have been working with Thor Erik Dullum and Marcelo Vasco for cover and layout design. From the very beginning of the process, we wanted this album to have a very clear, crisp and organic cover that spearheads the cold and northern essence of the album. So what could be more natural than basing it on our very own Nordic surroundings? Furthermore, we are also very happy to reveal that we have extended our deal with Century Media Records.
Onwards!”

3TEETH – Release Lyric Video To “AFFLUENZA”
3TEETH share a third track from their forthcoming album, METAWAR (July 5, Century Media), streaming the song “AFFLUENZA” HERE!
The band previously released the videos for “EXXXIT” and “AMERICAN LANDFILL” . Singer Alexis Mincolla, in a recent interview with Kerrang!, discussed the NSFW clip for “EXXXIT” and the concept behind the song and accompanying video, saying, “I wanted to kind of show this play off self-destruction as a form of liberation. Because I think that’s constantly what people are doing. People work Monday through Friday, 9-5, and then Friday 5 o’clock hits and we just want to get fucking obliterated.”
3TEETH have a busy summer ahead of them, aside from the July 5 release of METAWAR, the Los Angeles-based band head to Europe, joining Ministry for a two-week trek, followed by a month of North American headlining shows (dubbed the “METATOUR”).

3TEETH released their self-titled debut album in 2014, seeing the 14-track collection top the iTunes electronic charts and gaining the outfit widespread attention, both amongst music lovers and musicians, leading to the band’s opening slot on two legs of Tool’s 2016 North American tour. Once off the road, 3TEETH locked themselves in the studio, releasing their sophomore album, “<shutdown.exe>”, in the Spring of 2017. The album debuted at #23 on Billboard (US), and took the band across North America and Europe — headlining, and supporting acts such as Rammstein and Danzig. 3TEETH is Alexis Mincolla (vocals), Xavier Swafford (keyboards), Andrew Means (modular synth/bass), Chase Brawner (guitar) and Justin Hanson (drums).
