Released in 2017, Arch Enemy’s tenth album was the ultimate statement of heavy metal supremacy from a band that is still growing in stature year after year. The critically acclaimed album is the first the band recorded with their current line-up: Alissa White-Gluz (vocals,) Michael Amott (guitars,) Jeff Loomis (guitars,) Sharlee D’Angelo (bass,) Daniel Erlandsson (drums). Achieving longevity is the toughest challenge that faces any band, but Arch Enemy have long since established themselves as a permanent fixture on the global metal scene and continue to uphold and celebrate the heavy metal code.
The band is currently working on their new album. More details to will be announced shortly.

They opened with The World Is Yours from 2017’s ‘Will to Power’ album, a song designed to be a jump cable to get crowds started, and why not? It works everytime! ‘Will to Power’ is the first album with current guitarist Jeff Loomis and we’ll be sure to see plenty of material off that album today hopefully.
Just like last time I saw them in Denmark, Alissa White-Gluz’s vocals are perfect. Alissa was Angela Gussow’s replacement in 2014 after her departure from the band to become their manager and the band has gone from strength to strength under her stewardship. Next up is War Eternal from the record of the same name, a song that has loads of individual great headbanging moments.
The Race and My Apocalypse follow, mixing older material from ‘Doomsday Machine’ with their latest music, it all blends seamlessly and the crowd is completely engaged with the band throughout.
Alissa White-Gluz is an awesome front-person for a band, engaging, talented and passionate always as the guitars lead us into You Will Know My Name, taken from the first album she sang on with the band after their line-up change.
Arch Enemy have a full hour-long set to showcase their sound to the waiting Spanish crowd and they waste none of it, playing through loads of their newest material and some older classics too, they had everyone clapping along and headbanging to tracks like The Eagle Flies Alone and As the Pages Burn. A great set complete to tee us up for the mighty Slipknot next on the main stage!

Icelandic wrecking crew UNE MISÈRE’s 2019 is shaping up to be another landmark year having been nominated and performed a memorable live show at Iceland’s annual People’s Choice Awards last month as well as scheduled appearances at both Summer Breeze and Metal Days in the coming months.
Today, the band is proud to announce they will support Swedish metal superstars ARCH ENEMY on their Russia tour in July. See flyer above and full Summer dates listed below.
Recently UNE MISÈRE have finished the recording, mixing and mastering of their debut album. It was recorded at Sundlaugin Studio among other studios. The album was produced as well as mixed and mastered by Sky von Hoff at The Barracks Studios and is slated for release later this year.
Watch the final teaser that shows the tracking of bass and vocals, here: https://youtu.be/Tdayd4AGdfw
UNE MISÈRE’s vocalist Jón Már Ásbjörnsson comments, “This album has been such a ride and to have finished it is incredible, almost unbelievable. We truly did put everything we had into it and I really think that you can hear that. At least I can.
The recording and mixing by Sky Van Hoff and his team sounds phenomenal and it really feels right. They did a superb job in capturing our sound and expanding it even beyond our belief. The mastering by Svante Forsbäck is unbelievable and we are just so happy with how things turned out. I for one could not be more excited to get out there and play these songs live.
I just hope that the people who come to see us will like these songs as much as I do. I don’t think I’ve ever been this ready to hit the road. I could leave tomorrow and I know that the guys agree. It’s not to distant though so it’s not too horrible.”.
The band is going full steam into 2019 with the trek coined “Summer of Misery” with performances at Summer Breeze, Metal Days as well as several dates alongside ABORTED and label mates DECAPITATED. The explosive collective is ready to show the world how their sound pushes sonic boundaries.

Recently the band released the music video for their song, ‘Damages’. The song was recorded by Leifur Örn Kaldal Eiríksson at Lightweight Studios and was mixed by Sky Van Hoff and mastered by Svante Forsbäck. The video was directed by Amy Haslehurst. Watch the music video for “Damages” here: https://youtu.be/V6gSfs8_iuE
The band commented about the song, “‘Damages’ is about being at your breaking point. It is about being at the very edge and falling over. ‘Damages’ is about facing the fact that mental diseases may never be cured; although the person can get better, one may never be fully rid of it. Depression, anxiety, addiction and so forth – they will always be there. The shadows – they will always be there. They will follow you – into the grave.”
UNE MISÈRE formed in April 2016 by a collective of 6 artists who came together to play really heavy music. Each of the members were involved with various hardcore bands until they joined forces to write music inspired by Iceland’s darkest and most bleak aspects. With only a year under their belt, the band took 2017 by storm playing several shows including winning a Wacken Metal Battle in their hometown which later turned into a performance at the re-known festival. It also marked the release of their first mix-tape entitled ,010717, which was also served as the release date. They continued to make waves landing a slot at Iceland’s own Eistnaflug. Throughout the festival they played 3 separate performances, Most notable was when they played at an abandoned pizza parlor where their live performance cemented their name in Iceland’s underground hardcore metal scene. Fast forward to 2018 where the band continue making their rounds, performing their memorable live shows at Roadburn Festival, and Bloodshed Fest as well as a tour in Europe.

ARCH ENEMY release new music video for “Reason To Believe”!
Extreme Metal giants ARCH ENEMY are proud to unveil a brand new music video for the single “Reason To Believe”, taken from their recent, internationally acclaimed album, “Will To Power”.
You can watch the video for “Reason To Believe” here:
Arch Enemy guitarist and founding member Michael Amott comments on the motivation behind writing “Reason To Believe”
“Growing up, I guess I was what would be considered the “different kid”, the odd one out at school etc. I fled into my own shell and the music that I loved. Not having a lot friends and not being popular made me who I am today. My passion for music is really where I found my identity and also the strength to pull through those not always so easy times as a young teenager. Luckily, I was always obsessed with music, I had a lot of ideas for starting a band even before I hit puberty! When I finally saved up enough money to buy my first guitar at the age of thirteen I started creating my own songs immediately and started my first band soon thereafter. I haven’t stopped since. Music has been with me every step of the way through life and is still, to this day, my best friend and greatest passion. I’m sure a lot of people out there feel the same way. “Reason to Believe” is a song that was born out of reminiscing about my own youth and also the stories from our fans around the world. This one’s for you… Always keep on fighting my friends!”
A strictly limited, hand-numbered 7inch single and a digital single for the song are available now through Century Media Records! Both formats, physical and digital, feature the cover song “Shout” (Tears For Fears) as a b-side!
